Duration: Minimum 2 years.
Nature of Programme: Part-time or Full time
Intake (Seat): As per the available vacancy
Admission: Through DAT (Department Admission Test). Those who have fellowships (CSIR, UGC, INSPIRE and others) are exempted from the test.

Who can apply?
Candidates seeking registration for the Ph.D. programme shall hold a Master’s degree in Hydrochemistry/Chemistry/Environmental Science/Marine Chemistry or relevant subject from a recognized university with 50% marks in the qualifying examination. The candidates belonging to SC/ST communities shall be eligible for concession up to 10% and candidates who have been teachers at least for the last five years in a college affiliated to any one of the universities in Kerala will be eligible for a concession up to 5% in the minimum eligible marks. Selection is made through a Department Admission Test (DAT) and interview. Candidates who have passed UGC/CSIR or similar national level tests are exempted from the DAT.

How to apply?
Candidates seeking registration for the Doctoral programme as full-time/part-time student are advised to seek information regarding the areas of research and the availability of vacancies under their proposing Supervising Guide in the department before obtaining the application forms in response to the Notification issued by the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). The application shall be submitted along with the consent of the Supervising Guide, to the Head of the Department of Chemical Oceanography along with the prescribed fee.

M.Sc. Hydrochemistry

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)
Nature of Programme: Regular-day
Intake (Seat): 12
Admission: Through CAT (Common Admission Test). Notification in Jan-Feb. Visit IRAA, CUSAT

Who can apply?
Students who have completed B.Sc. degree with Chemistry /Polymer Chemistry/ Environmental Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry (main) with Mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects and atleast 55% marks in the main subject are eligible to apply.

How to apply?
Applications are to be made in prescribed application form and in response to a notification for Common Admission Test (CAT) issued by the Cochin University of Science and Technology. Selection will be based on the merit of the applicants as determined through an admission test conducted for Chemistry subject to satisfying other prescribed eligibility criteria.

M.Phil. Marine Chemistry (Course discontinued)

Duration: 1 year (2 semesters)
Nature of Programme: Regular-day
Intake (Seat): 6
Admission: Through GATE score and DAT (Department Admission Test). Candidates with valid GATE scores are given first preference and are exempted from DAT. Notification in January-February.
